A.K. Nursery

Family nursery · Vikasnagar, Dehradun · Since 1994

Rooted in Experience. Growing for Generations.

Since 1994, A.K. Nursery has been shaped by a family's commitment to plants, horticulture, and the knowledge that helps cultivation flourish. Founded on the vision of Shri Ajay Kumar Badoni, our journey continues through a growing collection of horticultural and medicinal crops.

Our story

A Family's Vision. A Growing Legacy.

A.K. Nursery began at home in 1994, with a simple conviction held by Shri Ajay Kumar Badoni: that a life spent with plants could become something meaningful — for the family, and for the growers who would one day plant what we raise.

What started as a household's commitment grew, season by season, through patience and shared work. Every member of the family has had a hand in it, and the nursery still carries that character: careful, personal, and unhurried where plants need time.

Over the years we have learned that good cultivation begins long before planting — with understanding each crop, and with choosing the variety that suits a grower's purpose. That knowledge sits at the centre of how we work.

Today our focus is on making the nursery easier to reach: a clear catalogue of the varieties we raise, honest information about each one, and a direct line to the family for every enquiry. As we grow, we intend to extend our reach and distribution responsibly, one relationship at a time.

Vision · Mission · Action

From an idea, to the field.

Our vision

A future rooted in cultivation.

We hope to build a nursery that growers can trust for years — one that helps more people find horticultural and medicinal crop varieties that suit their land and their purpose.

A nursery where agricultural knowledge is shared as freely as the plants themselves, and where responsible cultivation is the starting point rather than an afterthought.

Our mission

Growing with purpose.

Our work is guided by a few plain commitments, held to every season and with every customer.

  • Healthy, carefully raised plants
  • Transparency about every variety we offer
  • Cultivation knowledge shared openly
  • Clear, dependable communication
  • Helping growers make informed choices

Our action

From our nursery to your field.

In practice, that means keeping a clear catalogue in which every variety is listed under its crop, so you always know exactly what you are asking about.

It means adding photographs and variety information as we document our stock, answering every enquiry personally, and steadily strengthening the way plants travel from our nursery to growers further afield.

What three decades have taught us

Knowledge grows with the plant.

Every variety has its own character — its habit of growth, the conditions it prefers, the care it asks for, and the uses it is best suited to. Two plants of the same crop can behave very differently in the same field.

Understanding a plant is part of growing it well. That understanding is not gathered in a day; it builds slowly, season after season, the way roots do beneath the soil.

It is why we would rather talk with you about your land and your intentions before recommending a variety — and why, when we are unsure, we will say so.

Experience & philosophy

Experience That Takes Root.

More than three decades in the nursery field have shaped how we think about plants, varieties, cultivation and the people we grow them for. Experience, for us, is less a number than a way of working — slower to promise, quicker to listen, and always willing to learn.

Looking ahead

Growing our reach, carefully.

Our ambition is to grow our reach across India — so that more growers, farmers and horticultural businesses can access the varieties we raise, wherever they are.

We intend to get there step by step: strengthening how we raise, pack and send plants before we promise them further afield.

Registration & credentials

Registration with the National Horticulture Board (NHB) is a goal we are working towards. We will share details here once registration is complete.

Supply is currently arranged on enquiry. Tell us the varieties and quantities you need, and where you are — we will let you know honestly what we can provide.
